In light of the circumstances with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Executive Committee has arranged for a Webinar that individual can view online in a place of their choosing. After registering, and prior to the date of this webinar, you will receive information via email from AGA that will explain how you can access this training online.

This webinar explores the use of data analytics to support decisions made by government financial managers. Attendees will learn about the science and art of analyzing patterns, identifying anomalies and finding the underlying meaning that may be hidden in large and complex data sets.  New techniques and tools have evolved to allow government financial managers to model, visualize and query data to unlock previously unknown risks and trends. Join us as we explore this emerging field and learn about its benefits to the government financial manager.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to: 

  • Explore the field of data analytics to support financial decisions in government
  • Distinguish between 'Data' and 'Analytics' and why these are separate concepts
  • Identify situations in which data analytics can be useful in decision support
