Joy is a CPA in the state of North Carolina with 20 years of accounting and audit experience. She is a Principal, Client Leader, and Quality & Security Leader within the Consulting and Accounting Solutions Team of CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA), the 8th largest professional services firm in the nation. At CLA, she is experienced in assisting clients with technical accounting matters such as helping them assess and implement the new lease standard (ASC 842 and GASB 87) and revenue recognition standard (ASC 606). Joy is also heavily involved in planning and providing continuing professional education on a variety of topics to CLA’s clients and employees.
Prior to joining CLA, Joy spent six years working in assurance practices for national and regional public accounting firms, followed by eleven years in the banking and manufacturing industries serving in roles including Chief Enterprise Risk Manager and SVP/Director of Internal Audit. Joy has prepared and reviewed SEC and financial statement filings for both public and privately held companies, and is experienced in helping financial institutions address audit, regulatory, risk management, corporate governance, and financial accounting matters in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and bank regulatory requirements.
Joy holds B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Accounting degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a member of the AICPA.
